Audiobook Time Management

I hear a lot of voiceovers saying "I couldn't do an audiobook, I don't have the time/patience/vocal strength".

How weird!?

I think there are a few reasons for this thinking.

1. They have no idea that they can set their deadlines.
2. They think that you have to record 50,000 words a day.
3. They don't like the pay.

There are a few more but I will work with these points.
Okay.....

1.

You can set your own deadlines people! If you are recording in your own booth, then you dictate the timeline. You want two weeks to record? You got it. You want 3 days? You got that as well.

2.

I work on this principle. This is audiobook math time so get your thinking caps on.

1 hour of recorded audio per day + edit said hour = 1 day. (you can do that in a day, right?)

So.

An 8-hour book *could* take you 8 days to finish.

This handly leads me to the next point.

3.

Typically audiobooks are around $250 PFH. Again there are exceptions but generally speaking. Easier numbers to work with.

So.

8 x $250 = $2,000.
For 8 "days" work. 1 average sized book.

You would rather have nothing?
